Consider:

If you are new to swimming be aware that it is a hugely technical sport. To go to the pool and flail wll do nothing for you except get you frustrated. An overview lesson from me or any coach would be well worth the $40.

Aqua Forza

Aqua = Water. Forza = Power

What is it?
An intensive swimming (freestyle) program designed to take the average swimmer to an above-average level. The goal is to "move you up" at least one lane.

Whom is it for?
This program is for average or intermediate swimmers who seem to be "stuck" at a certain speed. This program is not for beginner swimmers or for hydrophobic swimmers. (There are more appropriate programs I can recommend for those folks i.e. private lessons, Total Immersion, etc.)

The ideal candidate is in decent shape and has done triathlons or perhaps is an average swimmer on a high school team. You have done group workouts and are comfortable using the clock and timing repeats.

How it works
The way Aqua Forza works is that you get a specific weekly regimen of exercises, weights, drills and training workouts which will address your weaknesses and reconstruct your swimming style. (Nothing over 15,000 yards per week.) I make use of videotaping -- specifically underwater videotaping -- and detail exactly what the swimmer's shortcoming is and how to correct it. I firmly believe that most errors occur underwater; if you have a coach who's giving you cosmetic above-water advice (i.e. hand entry, head level, etc.) you are only addressing 10% of your problems!! And of course, to show my belief in this program, if you don't get significantly faster, I'll refund your money!

Please contact me for more info.

Are you a SINKER?

Being a "Sinker" is the most common complaint I hear from new swimmers. Some think their body composition makes a difference ... it doesn't. The reason some feel they are sinking has to do with the "Quicksand Principle". Recall from your survival training that when you fall into quicksand, the intuitive thing is to struggle to remain afloat -- and this is what kills you. Water is a less fatal version of quicksand and to master it requires the same relaxation and non-action.
